Infinite Love

If You, O God, love us with infinite love
because You’re God and so love infinitely,
and God is love, that’s all You are made of,
then shed Your love full infinite on me.

You brought Your love to us, Christ, like a flood,
love infinite as God-Man and God’s Son,
and shed Your love in suffering and blood,
I ask for what You have already done.

Your love did not start, nor did it stop, there,
from my beginning I’ve basked and still bask
in infinite love--in work, in sin, in prayer,
for what I have, what need have I to ask?

I need but look, O Lord, to realize
how so much love lies in Your loving eyes.
