True Love

Who loves God first loves with a truer love,
not one beset by self or lust or gain;
all love below must aim at love above,
for our love blest by God will never wane.
Love aimed at God is love that's loyal and true,
God blesses faithful love that follows Him;
by heeding God's commands, love follows through,
by deeds we draft a love that will not dim.
Since God is love, all true love comes from God,
love puts God first because love means to place
the other first for real, not some facade,
by serving others first we love with grace.
To truly love, O God, is my desire,
an honest lover, not some loving liar.
