What is the image and the likeness of
our God, in Whom the Bible says we're made?
Let me submit they replicate His love,
a force in us that's meant to never fade.
Some see our freedom as God's image here,
or maybe truth or justice that is true,
perhaps, some say, the virtues we revere.
or beauty we behold or good we do.
How is God's image drawn and in what parts,
are these great talents etched upon our soul,
or in our conscience or on our poor hearts,
or somehow grace our human being whole?
All these combine with power from above
into, I say, the best of us--our love.
