Francis on Earth

St. Francis chose to die upon the earth,
to have his body lie on the bare ground,
in part he felt himself of little worth,
he wanted God's creation all around.
For God loved His creation, Francis knew,
so he considered all creation good,
He knew that God had called it all good too,
the bees, the bulls, the trees, the wolves, and wood.
St. Francis was a special friend of birds,
he saw them as a source of joy and fun,
he put his nature feelings into words,
his famous Canticle-poem to the sun.
St. Francis, may I see your way as true,
by following God, His natural law and you.
