Faith and Fun

O God, how much faith must I have with me?
Do I believe I have to choose between
my worldly fun and joy eternally,
fun here and now and fun I’ve never seen?
Must I give up, because of faith in You,
this sinful fun--must it be sacrificed?
Can I not have my cake and eat it too?
Must I give up so much because of Christ?
I like immediate gratification,
so sometimes want to think below the belt,
or maybe to be led into temptation,
and for a while forget the faith I’ve felt.
O Lord, as I am having fun today,
can’t You just kinda look the other way?
