by which a part of You You can reveal,
and let leak through a little of Your glory,
and carve a bit of covenant to seal.
What bigger tale to tell than Your creation,
so simple yet unfolds a universe,
what better one than that of Your salvation,
yet one that kills Your Son, what could be worse?
You let us help You through Your Providence,
and then we tell it all in history,
through our hard work, we make it all make sense,
though You reserve a touch of mystery.
So let me listen to the tales You give,
told with such care, O God of narrative.
