The Bend of Love

Christ died for us, not for the universe,
and Einstein proved that space and time can bend,
the Sabbath’s made for man, not the reverse,
it’s all for us, for we live without end.

God bends to me in His humility,
He bends way down, Who reigns far up above,
then He requires humility from me,
humility’s the product of true love.

Proud people do not bend, they break and fall,
Pope Francis bends to wash and kiss the feet
of little ones--the poor, the sinners, all,
so I must bend to everyone I meet.

It’s all for us, yet when all’s said and done,
all’s offered, God, to You by Christ Your Son.
