God Wing

I never thought of God as being wide,
spread out across the sky like some great wing,
to cover all outside and all inside,
an atmosphere that touches everything.

Yet God’s wing stretches way beyond the sky,
the planets, stars and galaxies above,
creating and sustaining low and high,
designing with intelligence and love.

Then going wider, deeper than we see,
to penetrate our souls with powerful grace,
the spiritual world His main reality,
reflecting back His own celestial face.

How wide and wonderful this wing of His,
spread over all that will be, was, and is.
