Bucket word

What do I want to do before I die?
A bucket list for this world’s just a waste,
it doesn’t matter one bit what I buy,
I hope to keep my soul from being dis-graced.

I want to do some things I know will last,
but everything down here will pass away.
What of my life remains once I have passed?
You said, O Lord, Your word alone will stay.

It’s urgent I do what You’ve told me to,
to show You and the world I love You best,
love neighbor next in what I say and do,
just follow these and fill in all the rest.

It’s not like it’s a message I’ve not heard,
not, Lord, “Show me the money,” just Your Word.
