Before My Yes

God was with her before He came to her,
she “full of grace” before she said her “Yes,”
God gives His grace like it’s a kind of lure,
to bless me some, before He more will bless.

Before I say my “Yes,” He gives grace first,
my fallen nature needs His grace to start
my prayer of “Yes” that has to be rehearsed
before He sends the grace that floods my heart.

Before His gift of faith I could accept,
He had to give me power to be free,
though with God’s grace and freedom I’m all prepped,
response is my responsibility.

Lord, if I want Your “Yes” forevermore,
to speak my “Yes” I must pray “Yes” before.
