Love Weakness

You know my weakness, Lord, I want to love,
and then, of course, at times to be loved too,
not too much though--just be thought better of,
but most of all to know I’m loved by You.

Do I know love, if felt love’s never known?
Sometimes I must feel love so that I know
how those I love feel when my love is shown,
and, Lord, how You feel loved when love I show.

Love shows best when I speak love with my deeds,
I may feel and speak love, but what I do
speaks louder so my loved one sees and reads:
“It’s less about me being loved than you.”

I better love as my deeds better speak,
by loving strong, my weakness is not weak.
