Daring to God

O God, do You know that I really dare
to plainly come to You and not forsake
Your flood of favor, love and gentle care,
with little bother for the risk I take?

There is presumption in my turn to You,
there is obedience too though I am free,
I do it 'cuz I know You want me to,
together we control my destiny.

It takes some courage to admit I must
stand humble as I let You break my pride,
to show the sinful soul You raised from dust,
to raise anew, all caution tossed aside.

I play Your game, for You, Lord, are my ace,
Your yoke is tame, Your burden full of grace.
