Heaven's Minimum

For heaven, Lord, what’s the bare minimum?
I’m worried ‘bout the steep and rocky path,
through many sinful minefields I have come,
stumbling enough sometimes to raise Your wrath.

We fear to hurt You, Lord, so we repent,
O all-just God, but also merciful,
our destiny’s set by our free consent,
yet You with mercy work Your miracle.

Though sin is bad, You’re eager to forgive,
Your quality of mercy’s number one,
You love us so and wish us all to live,
and You don’t want us missing heaven’s fun.

O Lord of love, Who made me, I embrace
and thank You for Your mercy’s saving grace.
