Christ's Touch

With Christ my every deed is turned to fire,
without Him, all my fiery acts are cold;
with Christ my words can silently inspire,
without Him, they sound petty as a scold.

Christ puts His spiritual weight behind my deeds,
His power is in my work, though it's unseen;
His strength does not force me, but mostly leads,
my sting He softens and makes more serene.

There is a price He asks for all His aid,
to cool myself and fire my faith in Him,
to grow some courage and be not afraid,
to try to conquer evey scornful whim.

Much of Christ's help is hid in mystery,
what's there it takes the eyes of faith to see.
