Ambiguity God

God is not black and white ‘til heaven and hell,
down here He’s full of ambiguity,
He wants our heart, not one that will rebel,
but how we give our heart is hard to see.

We’re always sinners here, and He knows this,
that’s why He gives us slack in shades of gray,
our normal deeds and love are hit or miss,
but our pass-fail exam’s due Judgment Day.

As we grow up, more black and white sink in,
so many ways both large and small we choose,
our souls tend to a state of grace or sin,
along the way, our trend is win or lose.

Finally the ambiguity is gone,
Your either-or eternity, O God, goes on and on and on and on.
