Our Own Big Bang

When life begins we have our own Big Bang,
our form may have evolved but not our life,
we come from God, not some orangoutang,
we're born in love not from impersonal strife.

Our parents mate but God imparts our soul,
conception gives us our own DNA,
already we're all there to make us whole,
our life explodes, then only adds the clay.

Each one of us is our own universe,
wondrously knit inside our mother's womb,*
to every part, our spirit we disperse,
then we are born, our galaxy abloom.

God strikes my match and sets the fire of me,
burning with love for all eternity.

* Psalm 139:13
