Easter Life

The lilies bloom when spring is in her prime,
we spy the chocolate, pink and blue confection,
with bunnies, colored eggs and Eastertime,
and winter gone, life’s in full resurrection.

Christ dies, then lives, He conquers death again,
the warm breeze and our joy can no more hide,
Christ comes to life to break the bonds of sin,
we spring to life because it’s Eastertide.

The sin of Adam’s now so long ago,
Lent’s over too, the fasting and the wait,
for prayer and pain, what do I have to show--
closer to Christ and heaven’s new open gate?

Amidst the fun of Easter, let me be
more grateful, Lord, for all you’ve done for me.
