Does it come down, God, to my soul and You?
Without the world's distractions there's just me,
alone at night there's only just we two,
as we together face eternity.
Of course, my church community I need,
my family, friends, co-workers, many more,
I reach out to my enemies indeed,
and I must not neglect to help the poor.
Augmented by a cloud of witnesses,
You give us heavenly friends to help our way,
with spiritual friends on earth You do me bless,
with this Community of Saints I pray.
It's true with You I often feel alone,
yet You make all of heaven and earth my own.
