The Mystery

How do I grapple with Your mystery?
A thousand times what I can understand,
and yet I know You are my destiny,
and I must do all things that You command.
Some carelessly ignore what I do know:
You made the universe so You exist,
You died for me and still fend off my foe,
You give Yourself to me in Eucharist.
See how You've favored me, You touch my core,
for all You've done out here, it's me inside
that spiritually feels You even more,
You comfort, test, give me Your best, and guide.
Why care You, Lord, for boring, little me?
The love that thrills You I return for free.
