Prayer Need

Don’t wait for need, for prayer it’s always there,
it’s there, we just don’t see it with our eyes,
in need or not, we need a life of prayer,
then need does not come catch us by surprise.

When least I need You, Lord, I need You most,
it’s when I do not need You that I do,
like when I coast, or of myself I boast,
blind independence must depend on You.

If I’m blind to my need, You are not blind,
Your greater knowledge knows no mystery,
it’s I who need Your mysteries divined,
my greatest need’s when You depend on me.

O God, if I am ever to succeed,
i need to see my need for prayer indeed.
