No Worry

St. Padre Pio says I should not worry,
but still I wonder, worry--I am weak,
he says have patience when I’m in a hurry,
it’s often hard to turn the other cheek.

If I want something done, I have to do it,
it’s true You, God, depend on me down here,
then something goes wrong, so I say, “I blew it,”
stay calm, Your saints still tell me, do not fear.

“Don’t worry” means to put my trust in You.
“Let go, let God” You’ve seen it all before,
and if I pray, You’ll help me see it through:
“You close a window, open up a door.”

Lord, strip away my shivers, scares, and screams,
and let me worry only in my dreams.
