The Connection

What do I do when God and I conflict?

I don’t want us to go our separate ways,

could be that by the devil I am tricked,

I want that God and I together stay.

I know, of course, that first we must connect,

a weak relationship cannot last long,

there first must be a friendship to protect,

and I must find a way to make it strong.

Once forged, how do I keep our bond intact?

I can be always open to Your grace,

in faith, in thought, in word, in deed, in fact,

I’ll work and pray and run away the race.

It’s bound to be we disagree, us two,

but, Lord, I’ll never disconnect from You.
