God's Plans

God has a plan for me, as I have plans,
part of His plan for me is using me:
“I’m just a little pencil in His hands,”
Blest Mother Theresa said, and I agree.

The awful storms we do not understand,
evil itself we cannot figure out.
The storms inside my stormy heart--He’s planned?
No, He allows--God knows what He’s about.

I have my life, why does God interfere?
If He has plans for me, well, so do I,
He made me free with gifts to plan life here,
at least a while until I have to die.

I should know, Lord, with all I want to do,
Your final plans for me are up to You.
