Real Reality

The body dies, the soul lives on and on,
which is, I ask, the true reality?
in death, my fingers, toes, all parts are gone,
my soul’s delights are all that’s left to me.

Death proves my body’s just a tool of time,
the past has flown just like a little breeze,
all things will pass, Christ said, just like this rhyme,
life’s just a blink ‘twixt two eternities.

There’s nothing that’s more real than that time flies,
or truer than time and life take their toll,
this life slips through our hands before our eyes,
we’re left to only hold on to our soul.

Now is the test--what’s on my soul I choose,
my self and God’s love I don’t wanna lose.
