Pleasing God

What pleases You, O God, I want to know?
First faith in You--what does that really mean?
In public worship that my actions show,
repentence for my sins, a heart made clean,
some hope that shows I'm trying to sin less,
some work on sinful habits I might break,
some honesty for wrongs I should confess,
some charity to others for Your sake,
humility, to see that You are there,
to humbly say Your will and laws are true,
to show my real humility in prayer,
to love You first, then all for love of You.
St. John says we show love when we obey,
let me obey to please You, Lord, I pray.
