Ordinary God

There is an ordinary God up there,
and that's why we are ordinary too,
He is the God of ordinary care,
and ordinary are the things we do.
To God there is no mystery to it all,
His order rules, we do the things we must,
and when by sin we in disorder fall,
He drowns in grace and mercy those who trust.
To us it seems a mystery we are free
and special and unique in every way,
He planned our ordinary destiny,
as we keep faith 'til His own destined day.
I offer free each ordinary thing
to You, my great and ordinary King.
