Open to the Spirit

The Holy Spirit wants my heart the most,
this means He wants my receptivity;
for that, which virtues please the Holy Ghost?
Mostly my courage and humility.

I must be brave to recognize my need,
brave to confess and wrestle down my pride;
and humble, so my sins I can concede,
submissive, so in Him I can confide.

If I empower my receptiveness,
the Spirit will supply what’s right and true,
He’ll bring His famous seven gifts, and bless
how I use them in what I say and do.

With eyes of faith I see, Lord, and believe,
and love You when I open up and receive.
