Like Christ

Each Eucharist helps make my body Christ,
my blood made His by every drop I've kissed,
but that's not why so often we're enticed
to eat and drink Him in His Eucharist.
We want to take on His own heart and mind,
to have in part His personality,
to be like Him, more loving, caring, kind,
and share in His share of the Trinity,
to sip His soul and spirit most of all,
to fill up with His will and want it too,
to follow where He goes and not to fall,
and do what He would do and follow through.
O Christ, help me become You to the core,
so we can join together evermore.
