Holy Coo
The Holy Spirit speaks in quiet ways,
I wish that He would try to prompt me stronger,
I care how long His short slim message stays,
I wish His silent words were louder, longer.
The Spirit sits, then flits down like a dove,
He coos His call, then leaves me thoughts to ponder,
it’s hard to see this God I’m s’posed to love,
unsure His absence makes my heart grow fonder.
And yet the Spirit also is attentive,
He listens and to speak to Him I’m free,
for dialogue, I must be more inventive,
His graceful prompts are also up to me.
O Spirit, help me to respond to You,
and answer You with my own fonder coo.
