Why would a God of truth engage in lies?
Why would four holy writers fudge the story?
They did not tell their Gospels in disguise,
and such deceit could never bring them glory.
God tells His truth by science and Revelation,
His Big Bang through a communist and a priest,*
both tellings show His genius at Creation,
does pride deny my sharing in the feast?
A God of love would not betray us here,
nor would He come to die and rise for naught,
it makes no sense to face our faith with fear,
let us accept the treasure that He bought.
A truthful, loving God--what more could He
bring down from heaven to personally offer me?
*The Russian scientist Alexander Friedmann and the
Belgian Catholic physicist priest Georges Lemaitre
both discovered the Big Bang about the same time.
