God's Own Magic

(Dedicated to Harry Potter and friends)

St. Peter did not have a magic wand,
he merely used his shadow to aid the sick,
and said the name of Jesus to respond
to the crippled’s plea and cure him so quick.

St. Joseph Cupertino did not fly
upon a broomstick, no, he simply flew,
St. Anthony used no magician’s lie
to cure their souls and then their bodies too.

At Lourdes, France the young St. Bernadette
cured no one, but saw Mary by power divine,
like Guadalupe’s Juan Diego, yet
St. Mary cures thousands at each shrine.

Though magic tales are fun and wonderful,
God lets His saints do many a miracle.
