How Much, Lord?

How much, All-Knowing God, my sins You know,
how quick, All-Merciful Lord, You do forgive,
how much, Almighty God, Your power You show,
O Loving Lord, how long You let me live.

How much Your love and mercy I’ve declined,
how much I’ve sinned, Lord, when I should have prayed,
how much I’ve turned my back when You’ve been kind,
to face my fears, how much I am afraid.

How much I keep my sins closed up inside,
if I just hide from them, they’ll go away,
I know what’s fooling me’s my foolish pride,
my insecurity at what You’ll say.

I know, O Lord, if just a bit I bend,
Your way we win, my Good All-Loving Friend.
