Test to Obey

Old Abraham obeyed, Lord, Your command
to sacrifice His own beloved son,
the message here’s not hard to understand:
obey You, God, and then our victory’s won.

Old Abe was just a standin there for You,
when You gave Your Beloved Son to die
upon the cross, the One our own sins slew,
He, tested, did with Your command comply.

You give me Ten Commandments to obey,
You promised Abe descendents there would be
like seashore sands, Your promises today--
as much for such obedience from me.

Your Great Command is that I love You best,
I pray You, Lord, for me not such a test.
