God Visits
God visits us the most when we're alone,
we usually cannot hear Him in a crowd,
We meet Him in a spiritual twilight zone,
He seldom visits when a place is loud.
How can I hear God's voice, Isaiah wondered,
He listened when a great wind shook the trees,
he listened when the earth quaked and it thundered,
then heard God in a tiny whispering breeze.
I hear God in the quiet solitude,
best in the dark while on a mental stroll,
when all the noise of day cannot intrude,
and I can sense the silence of the soul.
O God, You come and trace a mystery
my eyes of faith enable me to see.
