Persistent God

As I persist in sin, I do in prayer
persist again, and so You find me here
again because I know that You are there
to help me fight my sin and persevere.
Again I sin and once again I pray,
the struggle seems to go on without end,
but I persist and turn to You each day,
for such a fight, it’s good with such a Friend.
The reason that You’re there each day for me,
the world, the flesh, the devil too persist;
to help me gain my heavenly destiny,
I daily take Your gift of Eucharist.
To win the fight, O Christ, I do embrace
the Godly strength and power of Your grace.
