No Complaints

I've oft complained as problems round me swirled,
and getting mad, I've wanted to get even,
a broken man inside a broken world,
I know I'm supposed to leave it up to heaven.

With all my troubles still the Scriptures say
I really should not kick against the goad;
a fallen soul, for many needs I pray,
this fallen world gives me a heavy load.

But Mary's answer Scripture does record,
and down through all the ages will be heard:
she said, "Behold the handmaid of the Lord,
be done to me according to thy word."

So though I know my problems weigh a ton,
them I accept and say, "Thy will be done."
