God Outside

God sits outside the universe He made,
not in a separate place, but different state,
and He called "Good!" all His work here displayed,
then He made man the greatest of the great.
Despite our sin, God loves us most of all,
and proved it when of all He made us free
to answer or repudiate His call,
to choose our course for all eternity.
But sneaky God does not just sit out there,
His infinite love is full of mercy too,
He helps those who engage with Him in prayer,
He gets involved and knows us through and through.
Great God, I know You always can outwit
dumb me, who sometimes doesn't care one whit.
