Stand By You

You know I will stand by you thick and thin,
stand by you in whatever trouble you know,
stand by you in the state of grace or sin,
stand by you and I'll never let you go.

But I can't stop you when you pull away,
sometimes I must stand by because you're free,
You're free to leave, I cannot make you stay,
I must stand by, if you won't stand by Me.

If you go far, you haven't got a prayer,
if you come back, I'm always ready to
take you back anytime or anywhere,
I'll welcome you, and always stand by you.

And if you want, I'll stand by 'til the end,
your loyal friend I'll always be, My friend.
