Intrusive God
Of several billion people, only I
look outward while they all are looking in,
with my eyes only I can see the sky,
there’s only one myself under my skin.
The center of the universe is me,
‘til there intrudes a power--almost a curse,
intrusive God arrives intrusively,
unsettling my own comfortable universe.
I know He comes with great intrusive love,
but why on my routines must He intrude?
God wants me with forever Him above,
where I’ll feel overwhelming gratitude.
Should I reject You, all Your love and grace,
just ‘cause, intrusive God, You’re in my face?
